Anonymous mailing services on the Internet
Mail address generated automatically when you visit the site. Save the mail address if you want to return to the mail box later and then put the address into the box and check the mails.
This one needs java script if you want to read the mail. I don’t like it when sites say they are for privacy and then needs you to turn on the scripts. So the simple way to read the mail without enabling Java is by right clicking on the page and view source. And then hit cntrl + f and search for “subject” (without quotes) Just below the subject you will see a line location.href=’showmail.php?inbox=pn1h2z9xmv8kcwq&mail=ODg2ODk2MA==’;” just copy the part starting from showmail till the MA== (without the ‘ ‘ ) and then paste it into the browsers addressbar so that it will look like
http://www.temporaryinbox.com/showmail.php?inbox=pn1h2z9xmv8kcwq&mail=ODg2ODk2MA==
Once you read it you can trash your mail.
You can also create anyemailaddress@temporaryinbox.com and give it to anyone and then come back to the site and check it. This is apart from the randomly generated email address you can get when you visit the site. your disposable inbox ass rss. which will allow easy integration in feed aggregators, webpages and other scripts. Even extensions for Firefox and InternetExplorer are available and round up the whole process.
Only inbox. Can’t reply.
You can give out any mail address like xy@dodgeit.com and if you remember it then go to the site and type that address into the box and check the inbox. But the problem is that the mail cannot be trashed and since there are no passwords to protect the inbox the next person who happen to use the same address would type in the address and would end up viewing not only his mail but your mail too. To password protect the box you need to pay. If you go to this site and randomnly pick a address and check the inbox you could end up seeing a lot more mails that was sent to this address by people who used the same address before.
Only inbox. Can’t reply
You can use the automatically generated email address you get when you visit the site or you can give any email address you like @mailinator.com to anyone and just go to the site and type that address and check the mail. Mailinator generates a mail box as soon as a mail is recieved in an address.
Again no trash feature on this one and just like dodgeit.com if you pick a random address and gave it to someone and come to check the mail on this site by typing in your emailaddress that you gave for mailnator you could end up seeing a lot more mail from other people who happened to use the same mail address before you. And that also means the next person who comes there can view your mails if he happens to pick the same email address that you chose.
Type your real/current email address and they will give you an alias and any email sent to this alias will be forwarded to your real email address. You can also type in a reminder so that you know to whom and why you gave the alias. This is a good feature.
Password protected mail address for free. But with a limit of 1MB per message(over sized messages will be deleted) and a max of 10 messages per account. YOu can set the time when the mail can expire.Minimum is 8 hrs. No reply feature. Only inbox. No trash feature but in this case the mail box is password protected.
Tool bar for IE to check the mails directly from your browser. This site also allows you to pick any random address @mytrashmail.com to give it to anyone and then come back and just type the mail address you gave and check the inbox for message. In this case also the inbox is created as soon as a mail is recieved on the address you gave. And you have a trash feature too. Also there is a reply feature but is only for registered users. Also there is a forwarding feature, again for registered user. But if you try to register with a mytrashmail.com email address it won’t accept.
So I tried a email address @temporaryinbox.com to register and they accepted. That was funny when you realise that one temp email address was used to register in another temp email address. Registration is free. You can register then use the forwarding feature as well as the secure inbox feature which is a password protected inbox and also the reply feature.
Ok so after registration you can reply, foward, read through XML feed etc:- But free registration is only for 30 days. After that you gotta pay.
The page is refreshed when a new mail is received and the new mail is displayed. And you can even reply to the mail. The only problem is that you can’t leave the site and then go back and type in your temp email address and check your inbox. The only way you can leave the site and go back and check your inbox is as long as the cookies are there. If you clear your cookies and then go back the only thing you can do is to get a new email id.
Has a inbox and reply to the mail feature.
Dontreg.com
A mail box as well as login database. The login database are for sites that requires free registration. When you need to sign into such a site and don’t want to go through all the registration procedure just come back to donreg.com and type the url of the site into the login database box and they will provide you with a user and pass that is already been registered with that site.
If the database does not have that site you can register using the Temp mail and the provide the data to dontreg.com and that way everyone will be helping each other. Funnily or strangely it gave two logins and pass for myspace.com.
Here you can set up an email address that re-directs the mails to your inbox

Remailers:
Apart from the above mentioned methods the other way of sending an anonymous mail is by using a remailer service. But the problem with using a remailer is that a record of the message being sent is left on your outgoing mail server and you can’t get any replies.
To use an anonymous remailer, simply send a properly formatted email message to the email address of the remailer. Yes properly formatted is the keyword. Sending an email just to the remailer address does not ensure that the mail is forwarded to the actual recipient. For that you need to properly format the message. In the TO field you have to use the remailer address but within the text you need to format it properly so that the message is forwarded to the intended recipient.
Each remailer has it’s own formatting style. So depending on the remailer you are using you need to format accordingly.
Some of the known remailers are:-
remailer@cypherpunks.to
remailer@zerofreedom.homeip.net
remailer@eelbash.org
remailer@eocto.net
remailer@kroken.dynalias.com
mixmaster@bird.topazcrow.net
mixmaster@tatooine.homelinux.net
Here is a tutorial on using cypherpunks.to as your remailer.
A list of remailers apart from the ones mentioned above can be found here.
Send a text message with the subject “remailer-help” to the remailer address for specific remailer formatting.
Special mention:-
Self-destructing-email.com
You can create a mail address using any of the anonymous mail websites mentioned above which allows you to send mails and then register the address with self-destructing.com and then route the mail via this website by putting .self-destructing-email.com at the end of the recipients email address in the “TO” field. What happens is that the recipient gets the mail with your original email address in the Sender field. And when the mail is opened the recipient will be asked to visit the self-destructing-email.com url where the mail you sent is stored. And the mail will self destruct.
You are also notified when the recipient reads the mail. Free users are allowed to send 25 messages.
Please note that these methods are not to be used for any illegal purposes. This can be used if you want to notify someone about something that they should know or to alert them about something anonymously whether it is job related or something or to stop spam messages from flooding your inbox. I mean basically use it for genuine purposes.
